Daniel Smith watercolors are pretty extraordinary! Handmade in Seattle, every batch is tested for high-quality performance. They’re extremely pigmented and finely ground, featuring superior lightfastness and clear, clean washes even when colors are layered. Daniel Smith offers the widest color range of professional watercolors.

With this set, you can create an expressive wide range of blues, from calm summer water to stormy winter skies.

“Blue is a color associated with tranquility, eternity, mood, and well-being – it’s all around us. While being one of the three primary colors, blue comes in a multitude of shades, each with its own unique personality and characteristics. These colors can be mixed to create nearly any blue your mind can dream up. At one point in Europe’s history, only the very rich  were able to enjoy the luxury of blue paint. In my opinion, you can never have too many different blues!” – Julie Ann Karlsson

Each of these six half pans are hand poured. This set comes with a travel case and nine additional empty pans for mixing or adding colors from your personal collection of watercolor tubes for easy portability.

This set includes six watercolor half pans in the following colors:

  • Cerulean Blue
  • Indigo
  • Lunar Blue
  • Payne’s Blue Gray
  • Sleeping Beauty Turquoise Genuine
  • Sodalite Genuine

Well, first time trying Daniel Smith watercolors. I have to say the pigment/ saturation lives up to the hype. If you are a blue palette person, throw particular set is gorgeous. However, I struggle to open the case. I don't know if it's me, but this case is stubborn. But once open, the blue scene is worth the trouble!
